Create a Pipe Network from Survey

This course covers how to model an existing storm sewer network in Civil 3D from survey data.

The survey consists of an AutoCAD drawing containing 3D polylines (pipe inverts) and blocks and text for manholes and data. Features such as kerbs, roads, banks etc are also included so a ground model can be generated.

This is the aerial image of the area with the site outlined in red.

Once created, the existing pipe model can be exported to Storm and Sanitary Analysis for a sewer capacity check or can be used for clash detection against proposed pipework.
Included in the course will be instructions on how to create long sections, project and label the pipes on the long section as well as in plan. We will go into detail on how to edit the long section band information to extract only the information we require from the pipe network.

You do not need to have prior experience with Civil 3D to take this course, but at least a basic understanding of drainage design terminology and principles would be required.
